Hands-On Classes
You will find practical experience embedded throughout the Information Systems Management curriculum. In many courses, you'll work on real-world projects that allow you to apply technology, analytics, and management concepts to complex business problems.
Students frequently partner with companies, startups, nonprofits, and government organizations to analyze data, improve processes, and develop technology-driven solutions, like in our Measuring Social course. In Telling Stories With Data, you'll receive hands-on training and experimentation with a number of tools, and have flexibility to determine the medium that best matches your desired outcomes and skills for a final project.
Our Consulting Lab provides you experience in personal branding, asking high-value, incisive questions, and building strong, long-term client relationships.
Work Directly With Faculty
Our faculty are more than researchers and instructors. They are innovators and mentors who work to solve major problems facing companies, governments, and society. Most importantly, our faculty are uncommonly accessible and include students in their groundbreaking work. Heinz College and Carnegie Mellon are also home to dozens of renowned research centers.
