Transcripts from Previous Institutions
As an applicant, you are required to submit an official undergraduate transcript or transcript evaluation report from the institution where you earned (or will earn) your undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree.
Within your online application, you will add this institution to the Academic History page of your application with "level of study" = "Undergraduate" and "degree" = "Bachelor's or equivalent". You may upload an unofficial transcript, but this is not required as you must have an official transcript submitted as described below.
We must receive the OFFICIAL transcript (or transcript evaluation report) for the school where you earned (or will earn) your Bachelor's degree before your application will be considered complete.
See below for detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to submit your undergraduate transcript or transcript evaluation report for institutions within the United States, institutions outside the United States, or other schools you attended where you completed coursework relevant to the program to which you are applying at Heinz College.
Bachelor's Degree Transcript from Institutions Within the United States
If you earned (or will earn) your bachelor's degree from an institution located in the United States, your institution must send an official transcript directly to Heinz College.
Electronic delivery is preferred, if available. Please expand the appropriate section below for detailed instructions to help ensure your official transcript is delivered to Heinz College (rather than a different admissions office at CMU).
If possible, we prefer electronic delivery of transcripts.

- Download our Parchment Instructions (PDF) for step-by-step screenshots to ensure you select the correct listing for Heinz College.
- You must select the option that includes "Heinz College" for us to receive the transcript.
If your school uses the National Student Clearinghouse for official transcript requests:
- You will enter Carnegie Mellon University as the recipient.
- For Department, select: Not Listed.
- You will be required to enter our email address. Be sure to enter: heinz-transcripts@andrew.cmu.edu
If your school uses a different transcript service that asks you to search a list of universities and select a recipient:
- If possible, always choose the listing for Carnegie Mellon University that includes "Heinz College".
- Our email address for official transcripts: heinz-transcripts@andrew.cmu.edu
If your school's transcript service does not ask you to search a list of possible recipients:
- The transcript should be sent directly from the registrar of the institution to this email address: heinz-transcripts@andrew.cmu.edu
If electronic delivery of official transcripts is not available for your school, expand the "Delivery by Mail (Printed/Paper Transcripts)" listing below for our mailing address.
Official transcripts that are mailed to Heinz College must be enclosed in a sealed, unopened envelope, signed across the seal by the registrar's office, and mailed to the following address:

Other Schools Attended
As an applicant, you are required to list on your application for admission all colleges or universities where you completed courses relevant to the program to which you are applying at Heinz College. For any school where you took relevant classes other than your undergraduate-degree-awarding institution, you must upload an unofficial transcript to the online application system.
Each unofficial transcript should clearly indicate the titles of all courses taken, grades or marks received, and the date and title of any degree(s) conferred. In addition to the official transcript from the undergraduate-degree-awarding institution, we must receive the unofficial transcripts for each of the other schools listed before your application will be considered complete.
